Small Business of the Month:

A unique, community-driven makers space in Belmont founded by Michele DeSmet. The Local Spot hosts a bakery and 45+ local makers, offering a rent-based model with no commission, so creators keep what they earn. Built to support small businesses, it’s a curated, collaborative storefront rooted in local talent, community vibes, and giving back to schools and organizations.


Youth Voice of the Month

Gracie, a sophomore at Carlmont High School, is an advocate for civic engagement and community inclusion. She co-founded Girl Talk, a safe space for women and girls to connect and support one another, inspired by her own experiences as a student athlete. Recognized by Julia Mates during Women’s History Month, Gracie hopes to inspire other youth to speak up and make a difference in their communitie
